Join us for a NO Kings rally in Ketchikan to show the solidarity and strength of pro-democracy voices and to encourage everyone to exercise their power by voting and helping others vote.. While we’re at it, we’re having a food drive..

We’re meeting in the small meeting room at the Library. Starting at about 5:30 we will lay out sign making materials and work on signs. If you are receiving this newsletter you are more then welcome to attend the meeting and/or make a sign or two in preparation for the No Kings rally. Also, this would be a good time to drop off your finished postcards.

The next postcard writing party is scheduled for Thursday, October 8 from 5:45PM to 7;45PM at the Alaska Fish House. Please come and help. The more postcards we write and send, the more voters we can influence. This would be a good time to return your completed postcards.

Join VFR’s float in the parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

On the sidewalks in front of the Ketchikan Federal Building, we will celebrate what the flag stands for: liberty and justice for all, and protest the policies and actions taking us away from those ideals.

Voices for Reason is hosting its second postcard-writing party on May 28 in the side room at the Fish House from 6:00pm to 7:45pm. Come write with us! Stay as long as you are able. If you cannot write with us during the party, come and pick up a packet of cards to take home. If you have already finished writing cards that you received earlier, this would be a good time to return them.

Voices for Reason is hosting its first postcard-writing party of the 2026 election cycle. We’ll be writing messages on Alaska themed postcards donated by local artists. This year we will be writing to fellow Alaskans to increase voter turnout and to elect pro-democracy candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives. Come write with us! If you cannot write with us at the party, come to the party and pick up a packet of cards to take home. We are just getting started on this year’s campaign. More information will be available next month.

A peaceful protest, organized by Ketchikan Mayday for Democracy, on the sidewalks in front of the Federal Building. Make a sign, bring a friend, and stand side by side with other citizens as they exercise their 1st Amendment rights. We cannot remain silent as the Trump Administration undermines our freedoms, our economy, our Constitution and our values. See you there!

Voices for Reason invites you to our second community forum where citizens of Ketchikan are invited to share their experiences and knowledge of how their lives have been affected or will be affected by recent actions of the federal government.

Ketchikan will participate in a nationwide mass peaceful protest organized by the No Kings Alliance, a coalition of over 290 pro-democracy organizations. Over 3000 communities in America will hold protest rallies. The organizers predict this to be the largest protest in American history.

All supporters are welcome.
